Dr Nicole Chilimigras, affectionately known as “Chili”, is a devoted medical professional with a deep-seated passion for Sexual Health, Mental Health, and Queer Affirming Healthcare. Their dedication to Sexual Medicine is evidenced by their ongoing studies at My Sexual Health, reflecting a commitment to deepening their knowledge and expertise in this specialised field.
Chili’s journey in public health advocacy was sparked by four transformative years in a rural healthcare setting, an experience they regard as invaluable, and this period instilled in them a solid determination to continuously contribute to communities in need. As a general medical doctor, Chili’s interest in Sexual Health was rekindled during their rural internship and community service in the Eastern Cape. There, they witnessed firsthand the consequences of inadequate sex education in rural areas, which fueled their drive for Sex Education and Sexual Health. This realisation led them to relocate to Cape Town to advance their academic pursuits in this vital area of healthcare.
Chili’s ethos is rooted in the belief that Sexual Health and education are integral to every individual, regardless of sexuality, gender, race, or socio-economic background. These aspects tap into the universal human need to express and experience authenticity. In their practice, Chili employs an intersectional lens, creating an open-minded and inclusive environment that welcomes and respects all individuals. Their approach addresses medical concerns and fosters a space where every person can feel seen, understood, and cared for in their unique journey.
